On Saturday, October 10, 2026, Center of Excellence for Trace Analysis and Biosensor (TAB-CoE), Faculty of Science, Prince of Songkla University, led by
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Apon Numnuam, Dr. Suntisak Khumngern, and Dr. Atchara Lomae, organized a Science Workshop entitled “Wonder of Redox: Exploring Redox Reactions and Color Changes for Vitamin C Analysis.” The workshop was held for Grade 10 students in the 2026 academic year under the Science Classroom Project in Schools under the supervision of the university (SCiUS Project), jointly operated by Prince of Songkla University and PSU Wittayanusorn School.

The workshop aimed to enhance students’ scientific knowledge and understanding through hands-on learning about redox reactions, which are fundamental to chemical analysis. Students participated in both theoretical and practical sessions, beginning with a lecture on the principles of redox reactions, followed by experiments on vitamin C detection using Prussian blue. The experiments demonstrated how color changes in a solution can be used as the basis for analytical measurements and further applied to the development of sensor paper for vitamin C detection.

In addition, a science quiz was organized to reinforce students’ understanding and create an enjoyable learning environment. Prizes were awarded to participating students to encourage their curiosity and inspire their interest in science.

This Science Workshop reflects TAB-CoE’s commitment to transferring knowledge and expertise in chemical analysis and sensor technology to young learners. Through hands-on learning activities that connect scientific principles with real-world applications, the workshop also aimed to strengthen students’ scientific process skills and inspire them to pursue further studies in science and technology in the future.
